From the Administration Menu, click on Report Manager > Produce a report. Click Parents under the Produce Report For: column. If your report contains text you will see the option Replace new lines.
By default Pupil Tracking allows new lines to be entered in reports. However, new lines allow staff to create very long reports even with a low character count limit. If you are not delivering your reports online and manually printing them this could waste paper. To solve this issue Pupil Tracking provides the following options when producing a report:
- Replace multiple new lines with a single new line
- Replace multiple new lines with a single space
Consider the examples below.
Example 1
A member of staff has entered short statements in a report separated by new lines.
Shows appropriate responsibility for their age - Often
Shows respect and kindness towards others - Consistently
Shows appropriate responsibility for their age - Often
Demonstrates honesty - Seldom
If Replace multiple new lines with a single new line was applied to this text it would read:
Shows appropriate responsibility for their age - Often
Shows respect and kindness towards others - Consistently
Shows appropriate responsibility for their age - Often
Demonstrates honesty - Seldom
Example 2
A member of staff has separated sentences with new lines that should be displayed as a single paragraph.
Liam is currently working at level 3. He uses ICT to save information and to find and use appropriate stored information, following straightforward lines of enquiry.
He uses ICT to generate, develop, organise and present his work. He shares and exchanges his ideas with others.
He makes appropriate choices when using ICT-based models or simulations to help him find things out and solve problems.
If Replace multiple new lines with a single space was applied to this text it would read:
